So, its been about a week. We have had a fun time. On the 3rd, we headed over to my Aunt Bootsie's for dinner. Which was great (hot dogs, grilled cabbage, fruit, pasta salad, etc...) until I ate a cupcake and a cookie! We had fun watching the kids play, throwing around toys, and gazing at the lake. Collin went swimming in the lake...he's adventurous I guess. Not me. Joe made a comment about a group of men that were standing in the lake for hours with a boat floating full of beer. Smart I guess, saves on the trips to the bathroom. On the way home we saw some of the fireworks from Cedar Point. And at last count, Tommy had 15 bug bites...bad momma for not spraying him down better.
Anyway, then we headed over to the Widmer's for the fourth. We didn't go to the parade in Norwalk this year, maybe next. Again, great food and munchies. We contributed salad and chocolate covered strawberries. I even made a bride and groom for Amanda and Steve, to which I was told that I am digging myself in deeper for making stuff for the wedding (I am up to a grooms cake and now I guess strawberries for at least the shower?) Kids had fun playing in the sprinkler and shooting waterguns, and Sophia even got to splash around in a baby pool. We made it back to Norwalk in time to see the fireworks in town at the fairgrounds...everyone enjoyed them including Sophia.
Today I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the "stuff" we have in the house. It is becoming a giant toy house...Joe was right when he said it is not going to get any better any time soon, so I just have to go with it. I don't think a garage sale is going to happen, but it is definitely needed around here. Tonight we had Pizza-fied grilled cheese sandwiches for supper (ala-Hungry girl), and Sophia, in addition to her babyfood, munched on a banana for the first time. She needs to learn how to use those two teeth for good, not bad.
Nana was out and commented again about Joe doing the laundry. She thinks that I have it made because he "helps" with the housework. If she only realized how much he does around the house, she would think that I am the laziest wife there ever was.
(I had to bribe Tommy with a sucker to get him to set still for this!)
Oh, and we are attempting (not well I might add) at beginning potty training. Hopefully these 2 weeks with Joe at home will be productive in that sense at least!
Happy second half of the week!
